What Is Pulmonary Hypertension and the Pulmonary Hypertension Symptoms?
Before talking about pulmonary hypertension symptoms, people need to know the way blood arteries work. The heart has two chambers; the left chamber containing fresh blood and oxygen that will be flown into the whole body and the right chamber to receive the blood from the body. The pulmonary artery is the blood arteries connecting the right chamber to the left chamber. When something is wrong happening to the pulmonary artery, the blood can be stuck and obstructed. If the obstruction is getting worse, the right chamber will enlarge and fluid will start building up, causing worse medical condition that can affect the kidneys, liver, and even the legs. The obstruction happens because of several things, such as thickening or the existence of clot. When this condition is getting worse, people will experience hypertension symptoms.
However, not everyone pays attention to the symptoms of hypertension. Most people think that they may experience temporary exhaustion, so they neglect the signs. If they want to pay attention more to the signs, they can prevent the worsening of their condition. The most common symptoms of pulmonary hypertension are:
- headache that happen for days, not only hours
- short of breath
- dizziness and nausea
- chest pain
- nose bleed
- legs swelling
- fatigue
When checked by doctors or medical workers, the sound of the heart is louder than the usual. If people pay attention to the hypertension symptoms, they can avoid further worsening condition.
